Our Top Artists to Watch in 2023
To celebrate the New Year we have put together a list of our top artists to watch and highlight some of their exciting projects taking place this year.
Grayson Perry
In December 2022 the news broke that Grayson Perry had been awarded a KBE for his services to the arts. The honour will be officially bestowed upon him later this year changing the artist’s formal title to Sir Grayson Perry.
This however is not the first honour given to him, in 2014, Perry accepted a CBE which was bestowed upon him by then Prince Charles.
‘Map of Nowhere’ portrays Perry’s ideas of utopia and his connection with God, whilst integrating modern-day references like ‘Binge drinking’ and ‘Internet Dating’. This signed etching in an edition of just 15 Artist Proofs is sold framed in yellow as specified by Perry. The piece is available to view and purchase at the gallery.
David Shrigley
Alongside the anticipated London Art Fair running from 18th-22nd January, British artist David Shrigley will be releasing a limited edition print called ‘Extract the Juice From Everything’. This print is exclusively released through Jealous Gallery and is a 12 Colour Screenprint with Varnish Overlay on Somerset Tub Sized 410gsm Paper.
Also for sale at the London Art Fair is ‘Ignore The Ghosts’ (2022) which is part of the Extraordinary Objects collection. (Below)
Bridget Riley
This April, world-renowned British artist Bridget Riley celebrates her 92nd birthday. Over the last few years, the artists work has become much sought after and regularly smashes its estimates at auction. Her auction record was set in 1998 with ‘Gala’ selling for $5.7 million.
A piece in our collection we believe encompasses the spirit of Bridget Riley’s dedication to the art world over the last nine decades is ‘Blue Dominance’ from 1977. Also available for purchase is ‘Green Dominance’ (1977) from the same series (see below). Both pieces are signed, titled and dated by the artist and sold framed with UV and anti-reflective perspex.
Tracey Emin
At the end of 2022, the Tracey Emin Foundation began accepting applications for artists to fill TKE Studios with successful applicants due to start moving into the studios this year. The space can host up to 30 artists with studio space varying from 150 to 1300 sq foot.
In order to fund the project, Emin auctioned off ‘Like A Cloud Of Blood’ through Christie’s for £2.3 million, smashing its estimate of £500-700k and breaking the record for a painting by the artist.

‘Grand Hotel I’ (2016) was created by Emin prior to her cancer diagnosis which inspired the idea to create her studios and follows her distinct painting style like that used in ‘Like A Cloud of Blood’. This print is in perfect condition and available to view/purchase at the gallery.
The Connor Brothers
Our last artist to watch in 2023 is the Connor Brothers. In June, Extraordinary Objects will be collaborating with the notorious pair to takeover a popular landmark in Soho. This collaboration will consist of The Connor Brothers new regression works integrated amongst our latest collection of natural history pieces.
‘Frida With NFT Apes’ is part of The Connor Brother’s Bastardised Oil Series which combines pop culture references and classic works from some of art’s biggest names like Frida Kahlo and Leonardo Da Vinci.
We wish you all the best for 2023 and be sure to sign up to our newsletter and follow us on Instagram @extraordinaryobjectsuk to hear about our upcoming projects this year.
