Introducing Everything Is A Bit Shit; the latest exhibition from Extraordinary Objects Gallery that celebrates British humour, showcasing a collection of British artists renowned for their use of sarcasm and irony.

‘Our Town’ - the latest limited edition release by Grayson Perry

On display and flying the flag for British self-deprecation are acclaimed artists Grayson PerryBanksyDavid Shrigley, Harland MillerGilbert & George and The Connor Brothers, alongside emerging talents Tim Fishlock and Alma Singer.

‘Fuck You All’; the latest hand-finished edition by The Connor Brothers

‘Rat Clock’ by Banksy, released as part of Gross Domestic Product

We Brits aren’t afraid to laugh at ourselves, and these artists make no exception. Combining imagery and wordplay with wit and dead-pan delivery, their work comments on politics, culture and the mundanity of everyday life. Controversial, unsubtle and occasionally offensive, the new exhibition Everything Is A Bit Shit serves as a representation of our not-so-great nation.

‘Nobody Likes You’ by David Shrigley

‘Fuck ‘em All’ & ‘Oh My God!’ by Gilbert and George

Whereas Americans tend to think that they are The Greatest Nation on Earth, and bang on about it constantly, here in Britain we have a more realistic impression of our homeland. We could perhaps lay claim to being the most mediocre nation on earth. Distinctly average. Not the worse. Better than some. Mid-ranking. We don’t stone anyone to death, but the food isn’t great. School shootings are rare, but it drizzles a lot. Thankfully, knowing you’re a little bit shit, means you can joke about it.
— The Connor Brothers

Various original works by emerging artist Alma Singer

Everything Is A Bit Shit will display a variety of mediums including original paintings and drawings, interactive wall art, sculpture and limited edition prints.

The show opens to the public on Sat 11 March with the Private View Launch held Friday 11 March between 6-8 PM.
